Q125 committee donates to CCF fund
The Crofton Q125 Committee has officially finished its duties with a final check for $3,671.95 has been deposited in the Crofton Community Unrestricted Endowment Fund.
The Q125 Committee’s wish is that some of the interest from this Endowment Fund will be used for seed money for Crofton’s 150th celebration. A check for $2,500 was previously issued to Main Street Treasures to help pay for Crofton’s new sign. With that, the funds are at zero and the books are closed.
“Thanks to all who helped make Crofton’s 125th such a huge success, and best wishes to those who will plan Crofton’s next big Birthday party,” said Arens.

Agribusiness sparks new product ideas

On Wednesday, December 9th, Mrs. Stephanie Mann's Agricultural Business class was assigned the project to develop a new product. The new product development project is a very hands-on way to combine many of the principles students learn in the Agribusiness class through the semester. The Crofton High School one-act play cast and crew brought the curtain down on their 2020 season by participating in the C1-3 District One-Act Play Contest, held Dec. 3 in Wausa and a number of cast members were recognized with Outstanding Acting Awards. Volunteers who helped organize the Christmas cookie sale fundraiser at the Crofton Senior Center: Mindy Whitaker, Mary Sawatzke (manager), Dorothy Schoenberner, Janet Lammers, Pat Wakely, and Sharlene Guenther. The Center sold 197 dozen homemade treats.

Lighted parade a success

Lady Warriors tear into Laurel's Bears
The Crofton Lady Warriors basketball team opened their 2020-21 season with a big win over the visiting Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bears on Friday, Dec. 4 in Crofton. The metal nativity scene, a gift to the Crofton community from Main Street Treasures, is the handiwork of Orlando and JoAnn (Mauch) Munkvold of Mennonite, S.D. It can be viewed on Harold Street adjacent to the community sign. This week, lights will be installed so it can be seen after dark.
Wrestlers fight to near win at Creighton Invite opener

Caregiver baskets delivered in Crofton
Kim and Mary Sawatzke hold one of 10 gift boxes to be delivered to caregivers throughout Crofton. Items included in the boxes were blankets, chocolates, hot chocolate, drinking mugs, coffee, and hand sanitizer which were purchased with grant funds and donated by individuals.
School tells of DHM adjustments

The Crofton Community School District will be taking steps to limit spectator attendance at winter activities, yet still allow for attendance by fans from both schools. The measures are intended to be in compliance with the latest Directed Health Measure (DHM) and will be effective December 1, 2020.
