Modern Woodmen members along with several volunteers gathered at the Crofton Senior Center on Wednesday, March 23 to assemble fleece fringed quilts to donate to individuals and families in the Crofton community. Tammy Matusk a, Financial Representative for Modern Woodmen, stated that the Crofton Senior Chapter of Modern Woodmen will be presenting a total of 15 quilts in early April as a community ser vice project.

St. Rose School students raised over $900 and chose to donate it to the Crofton Volunteer Fire Department and Crofton Rescue Squad. “It was a successful fundraiser and students were happy to present the checks to local volunteer squad members,” said organizers.

Three senior boys and three senior girls were nominated by the junior class at Crofton to be the candidates for Prom Prince and Princess. The candidates for Prince were Zachary Berger, Riley Sprakel, and Stran Sage. The Princess candidates were Emma Neuhalfen, Brooklynn Fiscus, and Jada Schmidt. With the candidates being decided, the junior and senior classes voted for who they wanted to be crowned. After the Grand March was completed, all of the candidates met in the middle of the gym for the crowning ceremony. Zachary Berger won Prince and Emma Neuhalfen won Princess.

The Crofton Band sent 25 students to the 36th Annual Class C All-State Band on Saturday, March 19 at Kearney High School. Of the 25 students who had auditioned and were selected for the prestigious honor band, 18 were high school students and seven were junior high.
