Following the announcement last month that current Crofton Superintendent of Schools, Chris Look, would be leaving for another position, the Crofton Board of Education began a search for a new superintendent, this time deciding to check within the system as a first step.
At the December meeting, the Board agreed to interview Mr. Mark Wragge (elementary principal) and Mr. Johnnie Ostermeyer (secondary principal) – and at a special meeting on January 6, the Board held interviews of the two.
Following the interviews, the Board went into closed session to discuss the interview finalists, and after about an hour in closed session, the Board returned to open session and unanimously passed a motion to offer a contract and begin negotiations with Mark Wragge, starting in the 2025-2026 school year.
The Board’s regular meeting for January has been scheduled for Monday, Jan. 13, and it was mentioned by Superintendent Look that Board approval will be sought to approve a contract with Wragge at that meeting.
