The Warrior Marching Band attended NSBA State Marching Competition for the first time in over 10 years, and they finished 19th place among some of the largest bands in the state. This competition marked the final event for the Warrior band this season.
The Crofton band finished second in class A, the smallest grouping. Class A schools consisted of 180 students or less. The largest class in attendance, 5A, consisted of schools with 1431 or more students.
The band finished off the season with a nearly perfect record, winning their class at every competition they attended, excluding state.
”State Marching was overall a great experience,” said junior Darin Babcock. “We got to compete at a whole other level. The crowd was great and we got to watch some awesome bands. We had our ups and downs, but we definitely peaked at state,” she continued. ”Personally, I just had way more fun this year than any other year. This is my favorite show that we’ve done.”
”Some of the bands were absolutely massive,” commented senior Jack Schieffer. “...One of the bands had a color guard the size of our whole band!” Freshman Keisha Strunk agreed, “It was really cool seeing all the bigger bands march...”
Senior Samantha Strunk remarked, “Being a senior, this last season has a special place in my heart. It has been a lot of fun watching the band grow. We’ve all really grown and I’m very proud of us.”
