Tammy Matuska with Modern Woodman of America has named Cheri Leader Crofton’s 2024 Hometown Hero.
Cheri Leader has been an active volunteer in her community for many years.
She helped with the Centennial Celebration and the 125th celebration by writing and directing the pageant.
She has assisted the cheerleader program at the high school and been involved with many Homecoming events. She was a part of the Crofton Area Theater Society for 25 years.
She currently leads two weekly exercise and fitness classes at the Senior Center.
Leader also is acting Lay Pastor of Crofton Congregational Church. She has been employed by the Yankton Medical Clinic Pharmacy as a tech for 26 years.
She and her husband Randy have four children, 12 grandchildren, with one on the way.
An open house and reception will be held in her honor on Sunday Sept. 22 at the Crofton Senior Center from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All are welcome.
