The One Act cast reads through the script for the first time.

The curtains are getting pulled back on Crofton’s One Act Play Production. As the new school year gets underway, Crofton High School is setting the stage for an exciting One Act play titled “Too Many Detectives in The Murder Mansion.”

This year’s production will be directed by Mrs. Holly Wortman, Ms. Shiann Hansen, and Mrs. Nancy Scheiffer. This production promises to be an exciting and comedic play for all ages.

The script combines elements from iconic detective and mystery shows featuring beloved characters such as the Hardy Boys, the Scooby-Doo gang, Batman, and Sherlock Holmes. This unique cast of characters, each known for their detective-like personalities is sure to bring a unique twist on a murder mystery.

This season the team will be led by Mrs. Holly Wortman, she believes the team’s goal for this season is growth. “Like any sports team the play production team works together to be successful throughout the season and put together a show that is entertaining and competitive. As a coach my personal goal for the team is that they learn valuable skills such as oral common: speaking clearly and thoughtfully.”

The newest coach to the team, Ms. Hansen, is thrilled to be back into One Acts. “I am excited to be on a winning team and I also hope to avoid any illness so everybody can show up to practice.” Alongside the coaches there is a small handful of seniors who are willing to take charge at the side of the coaches.

One of the seniors, Jack Scheiffer, who is playing Detective Cane, is ready for the new season. “As a team I hope that we can put on the best show possible. Individually, I want to have a lot of fun and make some people laugh, and as a team I hope we can avoid any negativity.”

With rehearsals in full swing, the energy of the cast is up, and anticipation is building. Crofton High School is ready to deliver a delightful twist on a mysterious, humorous, and theatrical play that will captivate audiences of all ages.
