Continued updates from the family for Breanna and Katelynn Schieffer, who were injured in a car accident while walking to school two weeks ago, have indicated that the girls have both been moved to the Madonna Rehabilitation Center in Omaha.
Last Wednesday, the family posted: “This is the update you have been waiting for. Five days ago, the signs pointed to these girls never going home again, and if they did, what would their quality of life be? Here we are to tell you that the greatest Lady Warriors to ever exist made strides that the doctors and nurses could never have predicted. Today was the day we waited for and dreamed about. “
The current care for both girls was updated on the CaringBridge site on Tuesday, Sept. 10, with both receiving a “green light” to be moved out of the Sioux Falls hospital and into Madonna Rehabilitation in Omaha.
The girls’ rooms are next to each other at Madonna, and the family ended the latest post with, “The family looks forward to continued progress in the coming weeks. Bre should have an estimated goal of when she will be able to go home by Wednesday, and Kate’s estimated goal for home will be known by Thursday.
We are so looking forward to the progress the girls make in the coming weeks so the family can get back home. Thank you for the continued support.”
