The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has welcomed law enforcement veteran, John Shaver, as their newest deputy. Shaver is also the current Chief of Police in Ewing.
Shaver grew up in various midwest and western states, finally landing in Orchard, where he met his wife, Jessica. Together they have three children, Jason, Jaelyn, and Journey.
After graduating high school, Shaver joined the USAR, where he served 6 active years, including one tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2008-2009. Upon his return home, he was hired with Antelope County Sheriff’s Office.
He graduated with the 176th basic class from NLETC in 2010. Shaver continued to work as a deputy, then sergeant, with Antelope County until resigning in March 2021.
During his time with Antelope County, he obtained numerous certifications, including D.A.R.E. instructor certification. Shaver looks forward to expanding his career while serving Knox County.
