The Crofton Lady Warriors kept their undefeated season alive on Tuesday, Dec. 19 with a victory against the O’Neill Eagles on the road.
With their dominating win over the Lady Eagles, Crofton improved their record to 9–0 heading into holiday break. During the break, the Lady Warriors will compete at the St. Francis Holiday tournament on Dec. 29 and 30 before getting back into regular-season play against the Ponca Indians at home on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Despite the Eagles entering the contest as the underdogs, O’Neill put their home-court advantage to use in the first quarter, springing out to a 10-9 lead over the Warriors at the end of the first quarter.
After the end of one, the Lady Warriors were able to find their groove, turning up their defense to only allow five points in the second quarter and take a 21-15 lead at halftime.
In the second half, it was all Crofton. The Lady Warriors continued their domination defensively and found a groove offensively to outscore the Lady Eagles 44-17 in the second half. Their dominating second-half performance catapulted the Warriors to a 65-32 win on the road to finish off their pre-holiday break season with a perfect 9-0 record.
Leading the way for the Lady Warriors was Sammie Allen with 21 points, followed by Hannah Schieffer with 12, Cassie Allen with nine, the duo of Caitlin Guenther and Jenna Jackson each with six, Jaida Allen and Jaisie Janssen with four, Jordyn Arens with two, and Kaylee Mauch with one.
