In January 2022, Hailey Gubbels began learning the art of leatherwork. It was an art form that always interested her, so she decided to embark on a journey to master the skill. She contacted Ashley Connell, owner of RH Custom Leather, and asked if she would be willing to mentor her. Each week the two would meet and practice new skills. Soon Gubbels was able to design and work on her own, and over the summer completed several projects - one of which qualified for the Nebraska State Fair.
