West Holt junior Drew Martin earned 13th place at the NSAA Class D state cross country meet on Friday, Oct. 20 at Kearney Country Club.
Martin went into his final meet of the year expected to perform well, ranked among the top of his class. As usual, some athletes raced better than expected, while some performed worse. Martin performed well for the Huskies, running his race in 17:39.4 to earn himself the 13th place medal.
Martin, a junior for the Huskies, found success all year long. Martin placed in the top five at every regular season meet, and earned himself the title of both NVC conference champion and district champion. Martin’s performance at Kearney Country Club earned himself his first NSAA state cross country medal.
